The more I see this list, the more intrigued I am by which books for which the list-author chose to mention "and sequels". I had no idea Heidi had sequels - but surely the sequels to Anne of Green Gables or Little House in the Big Woods warrant mention. It's an intriguingly odd list.

The Heidi sequels were written by a man, I believe. Charles Tritten is the name that comes to mind. It is, however, over 40 years since I read them.

If the sequels were written by a man, then their inclusion on a list of books written by women is even stranger.

I rather suspect that the Original Author didn't know that salient fact... I'd love to know who wrote it. There are a few current CanLit offerings that are not necessarily well known anywhere else (Americans only know Margaret Atwood and Alice Munro), which leads me to wonder if the OA was Canadian.

Yeah, and some of the single choices are odd - like Cat's Eye for Margaret Atwood when many others are better known outside Canada, or "A Room of One's Own" for V. Woolf, when I would have picked one or two of her novels, or Severed Head for Iris Murdoch. Sounds a bit like the syllabus of a course?
